Hey Fellas,
A very warm welcome!!! After months of contemplation, finally here we created our own space called “Priyani Flyingbirds” It’s all about two of us.. Me “Chayani” and my hubby “Priyank”. Today, we are going to take you away to our very first story of Banana Island at Doha.
Both me and my hubby are passionate for travel since our young age.. We have been fortunate enough to visit many amazing destinations around the world. Traveling works as oxygen for us and is the necessitate for me and hubby to regain our energy. We love to explore the world, learn new cultures, traditions, and experimenting our tummies with yummy local cuisines. About a three-months ago, my hubby planned this destination for ‘my birthday celebrations’ and staying at this place later came out as a beautiful gift from the nature and a must visit destination in Doha.
How to reach: Banana Island is about a 20-minute luxury ferry ride from the heart of Qatar’s vibrant capital Doha. The ferry runs every half an hour from the Al-Shyoukh Terminal (adjacent to the Museum of Islamic Art). The very first thing you will notice here is the way of greeting. Instead of ‘Good mornings’ and handshakes, the staff say ‘As-salam alaykum’ placing the right hand over heart. We later learned that this is the style adapted by the resort to reflect the culture of the region. This is the point where you gave your luggage to the staff to let them care of it. The terminal is strikingly done with traditional furniture, wooden flooring and beautiful showpieces. By the time, you hear the announcement for your ride; girls can have heena (mehndi) on their hands and enjoy the cashew stuffed dates along with Arabic tea.
